This series, entitled Myths, Mirrors, and Windows, explores the interplay between existing environments, constructed identities, and symbolic objects. The figures in these images exist as avatars that suggest contradictory associations within the female psyche. By blending autobiographical references with visual stereotypes of women, the creation of these images allows me to explore the tensions between internal and external concepts of the self. As both the photographer and the performer in this series, I am able to manipulate iconographic meanings and explore the implications of these constructed personas through a tangible performative action.
